Dr. Tan has consulted extensively with various
government ministries, statutory boards and
government linked companies of the Singapore
Government including the Ministry of Finance,
Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ministry of Manpower,
Housing & Development Board, Civil Aviation
Authority of Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board,
Trade Development Board, Maritime Port Authority,
Ministry of Information, Culture & Arts, Media
Development Authority, Ministry of Environment
and Water Resources, Singapore Design Council,
Ministry of Community Development, Youth
& Sports, Singapore Press Holdings, Mendaki,
StarHub and Capital Land on policies concerning
financial, fiscal, trade, tourism, public housing, labor,
telecommunications, tourism, liveable cities, creative
industry, media, community development, airport
and seaport activities.
He has also served as a consultant to international
agencies such as the Asian Development Bank
Institute, United Nations Industrial Development
Group, World Gold Council, ASEAN Secretariat,
Central Policy Unit of Hong Kong, Kerzner
International, Las Vegas Sands, and other financial
institutions and multinational corporations.
MR. YOON WAI NAM

Appointed 25 July 2012
Mr. Yoon previously spent 17 years of his career
running and developing businesses for multinational
corporations and companies in Malaysia and
Singapore including a 4 year stint as the Chief
Financial Officer for Lafarge in China. Lafarge
is the world largest building materials (cement)
manufacturer headquartered in Paris. During his
time with Lafarge Asia Pacific, Mr. Yoon Wai Nam
had other leadership roles including strategy and
corporate development.
Mr. Yoon’s most recent roles were as Country
Lead of Monsanto in the Philippines. Monsanto is
the world’s largest seed producer of corn, cotton
and oilseeds, and Chief Financial Officer of Titan
Petrochemicals Group Ltd., a Hong Kong listed
provider of oil logistic and marine services in the
Asia Pacific region. During his time with Titan, he
oversaw the Finance, Treasury and Risk for the
Groups’ operations and afterwards he took the
leadership of the sales team in Monsanto Philippines
to develop distribution strategy as well as marketing
program to drive trait penetration for that Country.
Currently, he is a Director at the Centre for Non
Profit Leadership, a Singapore NPO with a mission to
advocate planned leadership and nurture leadership
capability in the Non Profit sector. He works with
sector administrators as well as individual charities’
Board and Executive Directors in advocating
leadership development.
Mr. Yoon has a BA of Honors in Accounting &
Finance from The Nottingham Trent University
(UK) and MBA from Strathclyde Business School,
University of Strathclyde (Scotland). He also
completed his professional exams with CPA
Singapore and CIMA (UK) in 1991.
As part of an initiative to promote new perspectives,
skills, experience, knowledge, energy, contact bases
and direction for the benefit of Unitholders of
Forterra, all directors appointed on 18 February 2010,
being Mr. Barrett, Mr. Williams, Mr. David, Mr. Leckie,
Mr. Horney and Mr. Jen, vacated their office on 25
July 2012. Mr. Barrett, Mr. Williams and Mr. David
were re-appointed as directors on 25 July 2012.
