Mr. John Lee brings with him
extensive experience in the area
of China tax and regulatory
oversight, which is one of the key
elements for considering, planning
and running a property business in
the PRC.
He is currently the Senior Vice
President and Chief Tax Officer of
Shanda Interactive Entertainment
Limited group of companies
(“Shanda Group”), overseeing
its global taxation matters
as well as being responsible
for structuring mergers and
acquisition and restructuring
activities for the Shanda Group
to ensure that tax, business and
regulatory considerations have
been addressed. Before joining the
Shanda Group in 2010, he was a
senior partner of KPMG based in
Shanghai, in charge of China Tax
Practice for China and Hong Kong,
covering multi-national companies
and real estate investors with
business interests in China. Prior
to Shanghai, Mr. Lee had extensive
tax advisory experience in Hong
Kong, Vancouver and Toronto,
working for KPMG.
Mr. Lee also sits on the boards
of companies within the Shanda
Group as well as Able World
Holdings Ltd, Autumn Gate Limited
and Arbutus Country Holdings
Limited. In the preceding three
years, he did not serve on the
boards of other listed companies
and had no other principal
commitments except for his
appointments within the Shanda
Group.
Mr. Lee graduated from the
University of Manitoba with a
Bachelor in Commerce (Hons).
He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong
Institute of Certified Publ ic
Accountants and a member of the
Canadian and British Columbia
Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Dr. Tan has been the Co-Director
of the Asia Competitiveness
Institute in Lee Kuan Yew School of
Public Policy, National University
of Singapore (“LKY School of
Public Policy, NUS”) since 2009,
overseeing research activities on
Asia. Upon his graduation in 1987,
he joined the banking sector as
a treasury manager and served
as secretary to the Assets and
Liabilities Committee for three
years, thereafter he taught at the
Department of Economics and
Statistics, National University of
Singapore (1990 to 1993). Dr. Tan
joined Nanyang Technological
University in 1993 and was
Associate Dean, Graduate Studies
Office (2007 to 2009). He then
joined the LKY School of Public
Policy, NUS to set up the inaugural
Master in Publ ic Pol icy and
Management Program tailor-made
for senior government officials
from China.
