Goal/Endpoints

• Demonstrate the safety and superiority of oral heparin as administered for 27 or 30 days vs. injectable Lovenox administered for 7 or 10 days. (For the first three days post-op, any approved U.S. prophylactic agent, selected by local clinician can be used.)
• Venographically confirmed DVTs AT DAY 30 as read by a team of radiologists at Mass. General Hospital
• Additional data for NDA filing, and/or for target label
