Duke Energy Field Services (Field Services) completed processing capacity expansions. Added capacity at the Minden, La., plant and the processing complex at Port Arthur, Texas, will total 175,000 Dth/d and expand services to gas producers and increase gas supply for Duke Energy’s pipeline systems. Field Services also acquired the Hico-Knowles gas processing plant in Lincoln Parish, La.
 
TEPPCO Partners, L.P. (TEPPCO) completed two expansion projects. Combined, they will add 75,000 barrels per day capacity, helping TEPPCO move toward a sixth consecutive year of record performance in the transportation, storage and terminaling of refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gases.
 
Trunkline Gas Company began a $52 million expansion of its Terrebonne natural gas pipeline system. The project includes a new platform and compressor station, adding 500,000 Dth/d capacity and bringing new offshore production from the Gulf of Mexico to Trunkline for transport to multiple onshore markets.
 
Power Services and MCNIC Power Company announced Mobile Bay Energy Project. They will construct, own and operate the Mobile Bay Energy Project, a 40-MW natural gas cogeneration facility that will provide electric power and thermal energy to the Mobile Bay natural gas processing plant.
 
Duke Energy Trading and Marketing (Trading and Marketing) purchased Inland Pacific Energy Services Corp., a natural gas marketer based in Spokane, Wash. This increases the number of industrial customers served by Duke, expands their energy service options and significantly increases pipeline capacity Duke has under contract in the Northwest.
 
Trading and Marketing signed a three-year contract with Rhode Island-based Providence Gas Co. It will administer all of Providence Gas’ gas supply agreements and deliver its full gas requirements at a fixed price. Duke began providing complete fuel supply and asset management services on Oct. 1.
 
DukeSolutions was awarded a $150 million Department of Defense contract. It will improve the energy efficiency of federal and state facilities in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. A previously awarded contract worth up to $100 million covers facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.
