Why Financial Services will grow in 2004

• S&P continued to grow despite decline in U.S. new issue dollar volume in three of last five years

  • Grew in 2002 even though corporate new issue market fell by 27%

• We expect to grow in 2004 even though RMBS will decline sharply

  • A 25% drop in RMBS dollar issuance is possible
