Global Sourcing Influences Menu Consistency

photo

SYSCO's supplier relationships extend to 32 countries and include more than 400 imported products - from condiments and chocolates to seafood and patés. These global sourcing capabilities improve the availability of many products, especially fresh menu items. Produce specialists work directly with growers around the world to procure an abundance of fruits and vegetables to offset domestic seasonal variations. Winter fruits from Chile and frozen broccoli from Mexico are among the products that help stabilize prices and allow consumers to enjoy full menu selections year-round.

photo Appealing to consumers' interest in daily menu variety and convenience, SYSCO's Brandables program offers chefs six different, easy-to-prepare product categories that can be served from freestanding kiosks or standard serving lines. The Arrezzio™ Italian Cafe, Casa Solana™ Mexican Cantina, Mein Street Wok™, Cool N' ClassyTM Frozen Yogurt, The Potato Gourmet™ and Block & Barrel™ Deli kiosks include colorful, contemporary signage and are highly successful in university and business cafeterias as well as other casual dining venues.
