From the beginning, Merit has demonstrated uncommon success in identifying customer needs in products used by both radiologists and cardiologists. As the company matures and grows, we will continue to build upon our solid base of innovation while creating differentiated products. Our technology continues to expand as we improve core competencies in injection molding, insert molding, semiconductor and sensor technology, catheter braiding and extrusion, tubing braiding and extrusion, guide wire coiling and manufacturing, custom kit assembly and packaging, marker band forming (“swaging”), catheter and wire surface modification, and electronic programming and circuits.

Maturing traditional markets, changing purchasing patterns, increasing competitive pressure, shortening product life cycles and rising customer expectations have intensified pressures on medical device manufacturers to adapt to new and changing
 

business models. In 2005, Merit responded to these market challenges by expanding manufacturing capabilities, increasing the effectiveness of the field sales organization and investing in several new, differentiated products while accelerating the pace of new product innovation. These strategic decisions have greatly increased the flow of new products through the development pipeline while improving manufacturing capacity. Investments in R&D and personnel will allow Merit to enter a new era of growth in a changing market.

Continually broadening the product offering
