- The core technology involves using a delivery agent (carrier) to facilitate drug absorption by:
- Transiently altering the hydrophobicity of the drug via modification of the hydration shell and/or the secondary and tertiary structures of the drug
- The carrier interacts non-covalently with the drug. Hence, the drug is unaltered chemically.
- This interaction is weak, and enables the carrier to dissociate readily from the drug after absorption.
