Throughout 1996, Kelly Services honored employees and customers with special anniversary events culminating in a celebration at our world headquarters. Forties-era music and dancers followed a ceremony which was emceed by entertainer Tony Randall and featured proclamations by public officials and dignitaries, and the reading of a letter from United States President Bill Clinton. Governor John Engler declared October 7, 1996 "Kelly Day" throughout the State of Michigan.
Our headquarters building was "gift-wrapped" with a giant gold ribbon and bow. This 8-foot wide ribbon wrapped 288 feet around the 10-story building.

A tent set up in the parking lot of the world headquarters building was the location of our 50th Anniversary celebration featuring food, decorations and automobiles reminiscent of the forties. |
