Two-Stroke vs. Four-Stroke
- Two-strokes have about 1.6X the power-to-weight ratio of “normal” four-strokes
- They have higher low-speed torque and thus much better acceleration
- They have fewer parts, are lighter and more compact
- But … they generally have higher emissions than four-strokes
- Direct Injection technology solves most of this … for now
- The challenge is to make a four-stroke engine perform like a two-stroke
