Delivering reassurance, comfort and recovery assistance to hurricane victims

When hurricanes brought extensive flooding and damage to Texas and Florida, Allstate did more than simply pay claims; we provided reassurance, relief and guidance on rebuilding. Our National Catastrophe Team sent hundreds of personnel to Texas and Florida, including Mobile Claims Centers stocked with basic relief supplies and teddy bears – because the storms’ youngest victims might need a special kind of comfort. The Allstate Foundation, Allstate and its employees and agency force contributed more than $2.1 million to disaster relief and recovery efforts in 2017, including grants to social service organizations and resources to help consumers navigate the rebuilding process. We also launched Good Hands Education Center sessions in Texas that provided information on how to navigate claims and access government support programs.

Providing compassion amid a landscape transformed by fire

The California wildfires left tears, tragedy and devastation in their wake for thousands of residents, a fact Allstaters saw firsthand as they connected with customers whose lives were upended. In addition to sending in Mobile Claims Centers and catastrophe response vehicles, one of our regional offices even hosted a pizza lunch to thank the hundreds of exhausted firefighters for their unflagging efforts. We couldn’t bring back what was lost, but we helped California on the road to restoration.

Reinforcing superior protection

As part of our focus on accelerating growth in 2017, Allstate debuted a new advertising campaign, called “Switching to Allstate is worth it,” designed to help the brand stand apart and prompt consumers to consider Allstate as they shop for insurance. The campaign emphasized the value of working with an Allstate agency owner who can help customers protect what matters most, reinforcing Allstate’s overall brand strategy of superior protection. New ads used relevant insights to pique consumers’ attention and highlight unique benefits that Allstate offers, such as our Safe Driving Bonus®, QuickFoto Claim® and Claim Satisfaction Guaranteed®. The ending tagline cuts right to the point: “Switching to Allstate is worth it.”

Roadside assistance is peace of mind when people need it most

Late last year, Allstate Roadside Services teamed up with Waze, the popular navigation mobile app used by 25 million drivers each month, to provide roadside assistance via Good Hands Rescue® service. With this service, all Waze users have access to our award-winning digital experience that makes requesting a roadside rescue fast and easy. Users can easily track their service provider from their smartphones and share this information with family and friends.
