Sampling Rock from the Well
Reservoir characterization using
seismic, wireline, and logging-
while-drilling measurements is
complemented by rock and fluid
samples recovered by wireline-
conveyed tools. Such techniques
are of particular value in explo-
ration wells as they can provide
rapid confirmation of rock
typing and fluid content. Wireline

Cores can be subsequently ana-
lyzed using services from TerraTek,
a Schlumberger Company.
