Highlights of the 3rd Quarter 2000
- Higher domestic market sales in the 9M 2000:
- 16.9% higher total volumes than 9M 99, reaching 75% of direct sales
- 29.0% higher net revenues than 9M 99, reaching 81% of net revenues
- EBITDA totaled R$966 million in the nine months - 17% higher than the same period of 1999.
- EBITDA / Net revenue margin in 3Q00 reached 41.8%
- CSN issued a suplement of US$100 million to its Notes of 2-year maturity yielding 9 7/8%, through wholly-owned subsidiary CSN Islands Corp.
- Inauguration of Itá Hydroelectric Powerplant on October 24th
- It has already 3 among 5 turbines in operation. As of Feb 2001, when the 5th turbine will begin operations, CSN will reach 100% self-sufficiency in energy, what will enable savings around US$45 million a year.
