How We Serve Our World: Giving back and investing in the communities where we do business is important. In the Americas, we support youth and disadvantaged populations through decades-long partnerships like the Bridges from School to Work program, Youth Career Initiative, DECA and NAF. In 2016, for example, our Courtyard brand Success for Youth partnership with NAF helped provide business context and workforce readiness for nearly 1500 students and teachers.

How We Serve Our World: Through the Marriott Foundation’s China Hospitality Education Initiative (CHEI), Marriott has helped impact more than 100,000 students since the project launched in 2013. More than 680 teachers from 78 partner schools have participated in CHEI programs, such as field trips to area hotels and guest lectures on campus. And, more than 350 of these teachers have completed faculty internships at Marriott International hotels.

How We Serve Our World: Our commitment to changing young people’s lives has resulted in nearly 5,000 youth employed into the company’s European operations since 2015. A further 10,600 training opportunities in the form of work experience placements and apprenticeships have been created since 2015, giving young people an invaluable step into employment. Through its World of Opportunity program, Marriott is committed to creating 20,000 training opportunities for European youth by 2020.

How We Serve Our World: We have partnered with Harambee in South Africa and with INJAZ Al-Arab across the Middle East and North Africa to introduce students to the hospitality business and offer internships or entry positions. Marriott International also launched Tahseen, a 12–18 month leadership development program scheduled to commence in September 2017 in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Tahseen will expose Arabic youth to careers in the hospitality industry and prepare them for leadership roles at Marriott.
