Market Information
At February 20, 2019, 339,668,839 shares of our Class A Common Stock (our “common stock”) were outstanding and were held by 36,417 shareholders of record. Our common stock trades on the NASDAQ Global Select Market (“NASDAQ”) and the Chicago Stock Exchange under the trading symbol MAR.
Fourth Quarter 2018 Issuer Purchases of Equity Securities
(1) On November 9, 2017, we announced that our Board of Directors increased our common stock repurchase authorization by 30 million shares. At year-end 2018, 10.7 million shares remained available for repurchase under Board approved authorizations. In addition, on February 15, 2019, our Board of Directors further increased our common stock repurchase authorization by 25 million shares. We repurchase shares in the open market and in privately negotiated transactions.
