2013 ANNUAL REPORT

OUR BUSINESS

Redknee is a leading global provider of innovative communication software products and services to the global communication industry. Redknee provides critical real-time monetization and subscriber management software to some of the world’s largest communications service providers, delivering the most innovative real-time, pre-integrated billing, CRM and customer care solutions in the market. Redknee’s core competency lies in real-time converged billing and customer care; policy management; rating and charging; and partner and content settlement.

Industry organization, the GSMA, recently reported1 that total data traffic volumes in 2012 alone exceeded all the previous years combined and projected that globally data traffic will grow by 66% p.a. through 2017 to 11.2 Exabytes per month- equivalent to more than 5 billion hours of HD video. This growth is expected to accelerate the need for service providers to upgrade their legacy Business Support Systems (BSS) in order to support new services and increased data traffic. Service providers will look to create value for their subscribers by merging social networking, subscriber and network data analytics, mobility and cloud-based infrastructure and processing services. Redknee is well positioned to address these market demands over the coming years as it focuses on transforming how communication service providers can improve business operations, grow their revenues, deliver a great customer experience and improve their profitability.

The successful acquisition and integration of NSN’s BSS assets was a significant milestone for Redknee in 2013. It has greatly expanded Redknee’s global customer base and significantly enhanced its solution portfolio, especially for the Tier-1 markets, making Redknee the largest independent provider of real-time, converged billing and charging solutions for communication service providers. The newly expanded customer base also allows Redknee to explore and leverage significant up-sell / cross-sell opportunities.

In his assessment2 of the acquisition, Karl Whitelock, Global Director OSS/BSS Strategy, Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan, commented:

“Redknee’s new leadership role establishes the company as a major business solution supplier that communications service providers can work with to meet the needs of their customers, monetize innovative services, and ultimately reduce operating costs in the process. Redknee’s strategy to create high value for its customers through ongoing investment in R&D, expanding its global sales and support organization, and focusing on customer retention should position Redknee as a continued leader in the real-time revenue and subscriber management marketplace.”

Today’s telecom market is quickly evolving to address the ‘Internet of Things’ – where data connections are changing the way people live, work and communicate. Redknee is at the forefront of this change, as it supports a growing portfolio of software solutions that address areas such as smart utilities, e-health, smart cities and machine-to-machine (M2M) enabled applications. Redknee sees great growth opportunity with the Internet of Things over coming years and looks to take advantage of this opportunity in order to continue to scale and diversify its customer base.

Today, Redknee empowers more than 200 service provider customers in over 90 countries, and its software supporting one third of the world’s population every day. Redknee’s customers include some of the world’s leading operators such as AT&T, DT Group, Maxis, KDDI, Telekom Austria, Tele2 Group, Smart Telecom, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
