Innovations like Pathways

Pathways promises to help a great many people work more effectively, and it isn’t even a product.

Pathways is a design concept—a rather revolutionary design concept—that integrates interior architecture (walls, ceilings, floors), furniture, worktools and technology products.

Result: working environments that deliver more support to the people who work in them and greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness to the people who create and manage them.

Steelcase began to deliver products based on the Pathways design concept in January, 1998. It is the basis of a collection of interior architecture and furniture products that we’ll introduce throughout this year.

And it will continue to guide product development for years to come—not only at Steelcase but also at other companies that supply products for high performance working environments.

The Pathways design concept is not a proprietary state secret. On the contrary, we mean to share it with product designers everywhere—at other companies, independent studios and design schools.

The broader its application, the greater its value. To Steelcase and to customers who want to get the most from their working environments.
