 The
new SYSCO Warehouse Management System (SWMS) helps improve order accuracy
and inventory control. Currently, the company is testing a hand-held product
scanner to locate items for customer orders. Once a product is selected,
a label is printed directly from a small printer on the employee's belt
before being loaded on the delivery pallet. This system virtually eliminates
the opportunity for visual errors in product selection.
