
At a time when our competitors are consolidating, U.S.
Cellular is growing profitably and expanding strategically,
while remaining true to our customer satisfaction strategy.
Credit for this successful year lies with more than
7,400 dedicated associates who exemplify the values
of our organization. They continue to show the passion
and commitment that have built and maintained a tremendously
loyal customer base. Our focus on customer satisfaction
enabled U.S. Cellular to add 627,000 net new customers
in 2004 (not including divestures), an increase of 40
percent over our net additions in 2003. By the end of
2004, U.S. Cellular served more than 4.9 million customers
across 25 states. This strong customer growth increased
our service revenues by 9 percent to more than $2.6
billion.
