During 2006, Bowater realigned its organizational structure to improve information flow among locations and team leaders. Divisions were eliminated in favor of an organization newly aligned by functional area across businesses and product lines. The results are already being seen in faster decision-making, improved customer service, reduced operating costs and improved quality.
NEW BOWATER STRUCTURE: Today our key functional areas are manufacturing, sales, services and support. The goal of this new structure is to serve customers in an environment in which operational excellence is paramount, supported by strong sales, service and support resources. The new focus provided by this streamlined structure is driving process improvements, eliminating redundancies and increasing efficiencies across the Bowater organization.
