IAEA Invites Duratek Employee
to Provide Consulting Services

The International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA) invited Mark Lewis, Duratek Regional Vice President and Director
of Transportation Logistics & Engineering Services, to provide consulting
services for the update and development of IAEA Training Manuals on
the Transportation of Radioactive Material. The first meeting took place
in December 2004 in Vienna, Austria.
Mark provides input on the structure
and content of the training manual and presentations for shippers of
radioactive material, as well as new program development for carriers
and handlers.
Mark Lewis is well recognized in the
radioactive material logistics and transportation field, speaking regularly
at industry conferences and workshops. He has been with the Company
for 23 years in various capacities, including Radiological Engineer
and Training Supervisor. Mark has conducted hundreds of radioactive
waste packaging, transportation, disposal, and related classes for a
wide variety of industries and organizations, such as commercial nuclear
power, nuclear fuel fabrication, state and local emergency response,
various consulting and service companies, DOE National Laboratories,
Department of Defense, various other Federal Agencies, State Regulatory
Agencies, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The IAEA is the world’s center
of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world’s “Atoms
for Peace” organization in 1957 within the United Nations family. The
Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide
to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies.
