Notes:
RM is also trying to work in harmony with the environment.
- Our efforts to improve habitat at our San Luis Obispo County vineyards were recognized by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in early September with the signing of a Safe Harbor agreement, the 1st-ever in the wine industry and only the third such agreement in California.
- The agreement focuses on habitat restoration along and around a seasonal stream at the 780 acre Cuesta Ridge vineyard to preserve the ecosystem at large and benefit the California Red-legged Frog and two local bird species – Least Bell’s Vireo and Southwestern Willow Flycatcher.
- This approach, which we call sustainable farming, is consistent with our natural winemaking methods and proves that quality wines can be grown and produced in harmony with nature.
- The RM family believes that by working in harmony with nature, with respect for the land and the creatures that inhabit it, we honor it by ensuring that it remains a viticultural treasure for many generations to come.”
