Bowater commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Calhoun mill by dedicating more than 3,700 acres to the State of Tennessee’s Cumberland Trail Park System. The gift involved 610 acres in land donations and permanent conservation easements. The color-coded areas on the map depict the lands involved in the gift announced by Arnold M. Nemirow at a news conference in Nashville also attended by Tennessee’s Governor, Phil Bredesen.
