Safety: Users of occupational health and safety products in laboratory and industrial production facilities.

Fisher's customer base is diverse, ranging from large, internationally recognized scientific-research institutions to small start-up companies. With more than 350,000 customers located in approximately 145 countries, Fisher has no single customer that represents more than 5% of its total sales.

A few representative products from Fisher's life-science line include: real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) instrumentation, which enables researchers to increase the yield of DNA and quantify results faster; microarray systems that researchers use to quickly screen thousands of genes for biological activity on a single slide; nucleic acid and protein-purification kits that consist of all the required reagents and consumables to separate DNA from other components; and high-throughput screening products that include reagents and consumables that are used with instrumentation to screen for potential new-drug candidates.
