As technology evolves ever more quickly, it’s changing our daily lives – and the insurance industry, too. Innovation is an essential component of Allstate’s future growth. Today, we’re serving the connected consumer with innovations such as apps to help people drive more safely. Tomorrow’s innovations from Allstate could include using drones to assess damage in disaster-struck communities, vehicle diagnostics, crash detection systems and safest-route mapping.

Safer Driving

Allstate’s Drivewise® program and Esurance’s DriveSense® program had more than 1 million active users as of year-end 2015. About 30 percent of new customers sign up for these programs, which encourage safe driving and provide opportunities to earn discounts. Allstate Rewards is the award-winning platform powered by the Drivewise mobile app that encourages and rewards drivers for their everyday safe driving habits – even drivers who are not Allstate policyholders.

A Better Claims Experience

No one wants to have to file an insurance claim – but technology can make the experience better.QuickFoto ClaimSM enables an Allstate customer to settle some auto claims by submitting photos of the damaged vehicle through the Allstate Mobile app on his or her smartphone. Fast Mobile e-PaymentSM simplifies and accelerates the payment process by enabling customers to obtain Allstate claim payments directly to their bank accounts on the same day the claim is settled.

24/7 Roadside Assistance via Smartphone

Introduced in 2015, the Good Hands RescueSM mobile app and website enables drivers to easily request roadside assistance anywhere in America through their smartphones – and you don’t have to be an Allstate customer to use it. When the motorist requests service online, he or she sees the service cost, the provider’s estimated time of arrival and the provider’s progress in driving toward the breakdown. Allstate Roadside Services offers roadside assistance through Allstate Motor Club.

More than Insurance

Beyond insurance, we are creating innovative partnerships to help customers meet real needs. Allstate agency owners in select markets have begun offering customers access to the Allstate Car Buying Service (powered by TrueCar), a complimentary one-year subscription to Angie’s List, car seat discounts from Safety 1st, and Allstate Realty Advantage (real estate agent referrals and more). Business owners can take advantage of “big solutions for small business” from the free Small Business Connection resource hub (www.smallbusinessconnection.com).

Allstate Benefits Expands Offerings, Moves into Canada

Allstate Benefits, an industry-leading provider of critical illness coverage, expanded its employee benefit coverage options in 2015 with a concierge health advisory service offered by PinnacleCare to customers facing a critical illness. Originally a provider of voluntary benefits to small- and mid-sized businesses, Allstate Benefits now serves companies of all sizes and expanded into the Canadian market in 2015.
