ACTIVE
SAFETY SYSTEMS: TRW’s
active safety systems help drivers maintain control over
a wide range of challenging driving situations. At TRW, we
blend a broad range of braking, steering and suspension technologies
to enhance vehicle control and help make the driving experience
safer.
Advanced Braking Systems, including foundation brakes, electronic stability
control, anti-lock braking systems and traction control, help drivers
during potentially dangerous driving conditions.
Steering Systems comprise a comprehensive product range of electrically
powered and electrically powered hydraulic steering and advanced
rack and pinion systems including speed sensitive steering.
Suspension Systems such as TRW’s active roll
control system help reduce body lean in cornering maneuvers.
Integrated Vehicle Control Systems integrate products
such as electronic stability control and electrically assisted steering
to offer outstanding vehicle control.
Collision Avoidance Systems are being developed that utilize radar
and vision-based lane guidance to help prevent accidents. |
PASSIVE
SAFETY SYSTEMS: TRW’s passive safety systems
help to protect occupants in the event of an accident.
Through the application of advanced electronics, TRW is
combining seat belt and airbag technologies tailored to
help reduce injury based on variables such as occupant
size and crash severity.
Inflatable Restraint Systems, including curtain airbags,
side impact airbags, knee bolster bags, and dual-stage driver
and passenger airbags, help to bring state-of-the-art protection
to vehicle occupants.
Seat Belt Systems feature multiple load limiting, advanced
pretensioner technology and TRW’s first-to-market active
seat belt system for pre-crash occupant stabilization.
Occupant Safety Electronics include crash
sensors that detect frontal impacts, side impacts and rollovers,
occupant sensors that tailor airbag deployment based on occupant
size and position, and advanced external sensors under development
that will aid in pedestrian protection.
Tire Pressure Monitoring includes direct,
driver-oriented tire pressure monitoring systems by EnTire
Solutions, LLC (a TRW joint venture with Michelin) and indirect,
ABS-based tire pressure monitoring systems which alert the
driver should a tire lose air. |
