An Opportunity to Strengthen Our Distribution Channel
We are currently the second largest writer of nonstandard automobile insurance through the independent agency channel, with over 14,000 independent agents and brokers selling our products. Our commitment to supporting this channel has not wavered, and our level of support will allow us to strengthen our relationship with our producers in the future.

Improved technology is one of the ways we are making it easier for our agents to write business with us. Agents can access real-time underwriting, claims and policy information via the Internet. They also have real-time access to underwriting reports such as MVRs and CLUE. In addition, policies can be endorsed on-line with the premium change available to the agent immediately. Our plans for 2005 include the continued roll-out of our web-based rating software and a paper-less initiative to reduce the number of hard copy documents that flow between us and our producers.

In addition to technology, we can strengthen our relationship with our agents via our P.A.S.S. Program. P.A.S.S. is an acronym for Providing Agents Services and Support and is the cornerstone of the support systems for our producers. The program was an outgrowth of a national agents survey we conducted to gain a better understanding of their business and personal needs. We learned that because many of our agents are small business owners, they need assistance with training and business development. Their training needs are being met by Infinity University, which includes the College of Insurance Skills, the College of Technology and the College of Producer Development. Our Agency Development Program within P.A.S.S. addresses their business development needs by designing advertising campaigns that utilize marketing media such as radio, television and newspapers. This type of support sends a powerful message to our agents that Infinity wants to be their long-term strategic partner. And while the program is now available in nine of our 17 target states, we have the opportunity to increase the number of P.A.S.S. members in those nine states in addition to introducing the program in the remaining eight states.

“Infinity’s co-op ad program is by far the best and easiest program we have ever used. The ad campaigns are diverse and allow an agency to market to different consumer segments.”
