An Opportunity to Expand Our Hispanic Market Presence
We also see an opportunity to expand our already sizeable presence in the rapidly growing Hispanic market. According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau data, the Hispanic market is estimated to be nearly 13% of the total U.S. population. In our top six states, nearly 20% of the driving population is estimated to be Hispanic.

We first gained experience with this market in California and have an understanding of how best to acquire and retain this business. Over the past decade, we have solidified relationships with agents who serve the Hispanic market by supporting their businesses and customers in their local communities. We have bilingual customer service representatives; we translate documents such as billing statements into Spanish; and we advertise in Spanish through direct mail, in newspapers and on television. We also join our agents in events within the Latino Community.

Our focus on this fast-growing segment is quite evident when you consider that approximately 50% of our customers in California have Hispanic surnames. We consider our position in this niche, including the strength of the Infinity brand in this segment, to be a significant competitive advantage. By using the expertise we gained in the California market, we are now expanding our Hispanic marketing efforts to our other target states. States such as Arizona, Texas and Florida all have growing Hispanic populations that afford us a tremendous opportunity to grow our market share in this very important segment.
