Progressive has been gaining market share and growing its customer base over the last few years by seeking to build continuously-evolving relationships with its customers. The momentum has been exciting and we wish to speed it up. It is for this reason that the theme acceleration was chosen for this year’s annual report. Artist Heather McGill’s complex sculptural works are a play of contrast and evolution. Transparent plastic is laid over lush air-brushed color. Laser-cut patterns are fastened by hand-stitching. McGill is interested in how technology has accelerated the distribution of visual patterns between cultures. To represent our theme, she has created a body of work that investigates the kaleidoscopic evolution of patterns in our culture. As patterns circulate, bits are accrued and lost, segments change, symbols gather and lose meaning, new amalgams are created. A selection of this work will be a permanent addition to Progressive’s growing collection of contemporary art.
