We are dedicated to cultivating mutually-beneficial, lasting relationships based on integrity, loyalty and respect, which we believe differentiates us to be the partner of choice.

When Wellman Plastics decided to incorporate rail into their logistics mix, they started asking around the industry for recommendations for a solid partner. Recommended by one of our existing customers, we met with them to see how we could respond to their needs. The Andersons team soon recognized we could take the relationship a step beyond simply leasing them railcars. We assisted Wellman with navigating the complexities of the rail system and developing strategies to negotiate with carriers. As Wellman’s use of the rail system grew, The Andersons leased them more cars. A relationship that began with only 30 railcars, turned into nearly 1,000 over time with The Andersons railcars representing 90 percent of Wellman’s fleet at its peak. During the recession Wellman’s fleet began to dwindle, but that didn’t lessen the relationship. The Andersons helped Wellman reduce costs by providing flexible leasing solutions. After all, that’s what long-time friends do for one another.
