The new COULTER® HmX Hematology Flow Cytometry System is one of the most powerful tools available for blood cell analysis, with its VCS (volume, conductivity and scatter) technology. At the push of a button, it provides comprehensive red and white blood cell analysis. The system is targeted to meet the needs of mid-sized hospitals. |

In developing countries, there are more than 60,000 manual and semi-automated laboratories, and each year 6-7 percent of them step up to random-access instrumentation. IVD Technology, September 1999 |

“ We simplify and automate. That’s how we create value for our customers. For example, our prostate specific antigen (PSA) tests, which help physicians diagnose prostate cancer, can eliminate the need for biopsies in patients who fit specific profiles. Our plan is to make PSA testing easier by fully automating the tests on our Access® Immunoassay System in 2000. Simplifying analysis also calls for creative use of technology. The CEQTM 2000 DNA Analysis System, introduced this year, is a truly innovative use of capillary electrophoresis for DNA sequencing. This instrument brings fully automated sequencing to individual researchers. A scientist can load samples, then walk away, leaving the system to process thousands of bits of sequence information. The resulting data can be easily exported to existing laboratory databases for analysis, further improving our customers’ processes.” |
