Risk Policies

Duke Energy is exposed to market risks associated with commodity prices, interest rates, equity prices and foreign exchange rates. Comprehensive risk management policies have been established by the Corporate Risk Management Committee (CRMC) to monitor and control these market risks. The CRMC is chaired by the Chief Financial Officer and primarily comprises senior executives. The CRMC has responsibility for overseeing all corporate energy risk management and recommending energy financial exposure limits, as well as responsibility for oversight of interest rate risk, foreign currency risk and credit risk.
