12.NET INCOME PER SHARE

 

The weighted average shares used in computing basic and diluted net income per share are presented in the table below. Options to purchase 36,000, 21,000 and 3,415,378 shares of common stock at prices ranging from $12.47 to $51.13 per share were outstanding during the years ended February 3, 2001, January 29, 2000 and January 30, 1999, respectively, but were not included in the computation of diluted net income per share because the options’ exercise prices were greater than the average market prices of the common shares.
