International Markets

International markets fuel expansion across both segments

In 2009, ev3 continued to enjoy international sales momentum. Our international business grew 21% in 2009 versus the prior year, and we made significant strides in increasing share and broadening geographic presence, including establishing direct sales organizations in key countries such as Australia. With products sold in more than 65 countries, we have grown into a leading international commercial organization and have leveraged our broad portfolio to capitalize on regional opportunities. In addition to gaining share in European Union countries, we have developed a robust presence for our products in emerging markets, including the Middle East, China, Brazil, Russia and Korea. For example, the launch of our Axium coils in China in 2009 contributed to our strong international sales growth last year.
