XC9500 CPLDs Our XC9500 In System Programmable (ISP) CPLD family addresses densities of less than 10K gates in even higher volume applications than the Spartan family. It is not uncommon for a single customer to buy millions of CPLDs, making this our most price sensitive market. Our rapid technology migrations have enabled us to price our parts aggressively and gain market share. At the end of fiscal 1999 Xilinx had a 10% share of the ISP CPLD market, nearly double what we had a year ago. While Xilinx is a relatively new participant in the CPLD market, we have quickly assumed a leadership position. In January, we announced the industry's first 2.5-volt CPLD product. This device consumes dramatically less power than current 5-volt solutions, making it ideal for high-volume applications such as Digital Video Disc (DVD) players and arcade games. During the year, we also developed a creative and efficient way for customers to evaluate their designs. The Xilinx WebFitter is an innovative software tool that enables potential customers to evaluate CPLDs via the Internet, without a need to purchase Xilinx software. Since its introduction in January, customers have run over 8,000 CPLD designs through the Xilinx WebFitter tool. Like IRL technology, the WebFitter tool is a testament to our efforts in software development and our leadership in providing innovative, Internet-based solutions to our customers.
