1998 Year in Review
Diversified Operations Delivered in 1998.

Crescent Resources expanded its reputation, projects across Southeast. In Florida, Crescent Resources moved forward with:

  • Two new buildings totaling more than 300,000 square feet at Primera office park north of Orlando;
  • Three office buildings at its Hidden River development on Tampa's east side; and
  • The 260-acre mixed use CrossTown Center south of Tampa.

In Nashville, Crescent Resources is developing CentrePoint, a 220-acre warehouse/distribution park, and continued development at its Corporate Centre office park with two new buildings totaling 266,000 square feet.

In Charlotte, Crescent Resources is moving toward a build-out of Coliseum Centre with the opening of Five Coliseum Centre and construction of six-story Four Coliseum Centre. At Lake Norman, The Point residential development sold a record 71 lots for $15 million in only four hours.

DukeNet Communications tripled fiber optic capacity and revenues in 1998. The explosive growth in internet and wireless communications, along with steady growth in long-distance telephone communications continued to drive strong growth in revenues and system expansion of DukeNet's fiber optic system in 1998. System capacity was expanded by installing additional electronic equipment on existing fiber optic routes. DukeNet will expand service to several mid-size cities in the Carolinas in 1999, such as Burlington and Hickory, N.C.
