2012 Annual Report: The Roots of Our Success

Employee safety is our top priority, and we are constantly engaged in the pursuit of an injury-free workplace.

We track safety measures closely, and we take the numbers a step further — we track near-misses and investigate their causes to ensure similar situations can be avoided in the future. Our goals are to improve continually and maintain our top-quartile ranking. Through our ongoing safety improvement work, we delivered our strongest safety year ever in 2012. In fact, our number of injuries declined significantly even though our people worked a record 32 million hours. We improved relative to peers, and we maintained our top-quartile ranking.

We also are committed to nurturing our employees’ careers and ensuring they feel valued by the organization. Our goal is to achieve a best employer ranking. While we’ve shown continuous improvement since our first survey as Mosaic, we remain just shy of our goal.
