For over a decade, we have approached our leading markets using a “focused factory” manufacturing blueprint in which we dedicate entire manufacturing facilities to production of a particular type of packaging or process. Beyond these focused factories, we have also implemented this approach within diversified manufacturing operations by dedicating machinery to specific markets like cheese, processed meat, and fresh red meat. This approach to process efficiency allows us to significantly reduce equipment downtime for product changes, control inventory levels and meet delivery schedules.

Pet food packaging is the largest market served by our paper packaging product line. By focusing one of our paper packaging facilities exclusively on pet food packaging, we improved equipment scheduling efficiencies and customer teamwork.

Bemis’ polyethylene products focused factory was established to support the bakery industry. This successful operation manufactures over 4 billion bakery bags annually.

Our three confectionery packaging operations focus on a manufacturing process that prints, laminates, and applies a cold seal cohesive sealant in a single machine pass, maximizing processing speed and throughput. Cold seal adhesive is pressure sealed, not heat sealed, allowing customers to fill packages with very high speed machines without using heat which may damage the product.
