The San Diego Blood Bank and Cymer enjoyed another successful year as partners in 2011, holding five employee blood drives at the Cymer campus. Exceeding our yearly goal of 150 pints, employees donated 197 pints of blood during the year. Cymer has given approximately 1,600 pints of blood during our 14-year partnership, benefitting over 3,000 San Diegans.

Continuing our annual holiday traditions, Cymer held a Food Drive, hosted a Toys for Tots event, and volunteered for a Food Sorting Night at the San Diego Food Bank. Employees filled six barrels full of food during the two week food drive. During the drive, San Diego Chargers running back Mike Tolbert visited Cymer to sign autographs and Chargers’ memorabilia in exchange for a toy donation to Toys for Tots. Employees donated over 200 toys, making many children’s holiday brighter. At our final event before year-end, over 100 Cymer employees, family, and friends volunteered for a food sorting night at the San Diego Food Bank. A total of 23,250 pounds of food was sorted in less than two hours. This effort helped 23,000 individuals this holiday season, making 2011 our biggest food sorting night in Cymer history.
